Beamish Hall Wedding in the Commom Room

Rachel & Rob's Beamish Hall July Wedding.

The day was relaxed and thouroughly enjoyable. Beamish's 'Common Room' makes an excellent venue for small, intimate weddings such as this. The staff were great and we missed most of the rain, thankfully.

Many thanks to Rachel and Rob for booking me. You can see their comments on my Facebook page, which I'd love you to join x

HMS Trincomalee Wedding Photos, Hartlepool Marina and Historic Quayside

On-board wedding on HMS Trincomalee.

HMS Trincomalee, docked in Hartlepool Marina's historic quay, is the oldest warship afloat.

Dating from 1817, it represents a very photogenic, unique and unusual wedding venue.

Steph and Mark Matthews (of Revolutionnares fame) were married in the captains cabin. A quirky venue for an artistic couple. Mark had a little bit of a problem with the low ceilings - as he's at least a foot taller than people were in those days! Here are a few of their wedding photos, on the ship and on the quayside:

Travis Perkins Golf Event Photography

The Travis Perkins Golf Event at Beamish Golf Club, went ahead despite the ominous clouds. Thankfully after a successful morning on the course, the sun came out for the rest of the day. Prints with logos on were provided for each participant when they returned to the clubhouse, courtesy of Travis Perkins.

My new equipment means I can turnaround prints quickly on site for sporting events such as this. Also very handy for other event photography at proms, parties and weddings, and a great buzz for guests to see images straight away.

Friday, 1 January 2010

A lot of people book weddings at the start of the year. You suddenly realize the days are passing fast and you'd better get your skates on (literally in this weather!) and get your photographer booked.

A word of warning - booking on price alone can be a false economy. Your wedding day is unrepeatable and you want the photos to do it justice. Unfortunately, it can be very confusing choosing a photographer. There are so many options and prices - and you don't get married every day - you've probably never made these decisions before.
Unfortunatley anyone can set up in business as a photographer. Having taught photography myself I've seen lots of people do it and do it badly. They charge next to nothing, but then your wedding pictures are awful and there's nothing you can do about it.
As a trained and qualified photographer with 20 years as a professional - I feel qualified to say this. You can feel confident with me as your photographer to capture the memories on the most important day of your life. Taking bookings now for 2010.

Happy New Year 2010!
